GeePS is a native front-end to google maps and utilizes other google web services to find local business and get directions.

GeePS allows to display your current position on the (google) map and track your path. The view can be customized by selecting any of the modes (Hybrid, Road Map, Satellite or Terrain) and toggling overlays (Traffic or Bicycling Layer).

GeePS uses the Qt Webkit to display a customized web page that includes the Google Maps javascript API; Qt Mobility location module to acquire the current position from the internal GPS; the xml module to parse xml output and the script module to parse JSON output from web services.

GeePS was initially developed for the maemo5 platform and can be installed on the N900 using its application manager. Ports for meego, symbian and desktop are planned.
